Lonza Group now offers medium chain triglycerides (MCT) to the dietary supplement and functional foods industry. MCTs represent a readily available energy source to the body and have double the energy value (calories) of carbohydrates, but contain fewer calories than conventional fats. Lonza’s MCT product is derived from co­conut oil and is Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS). The product is available as a clear liquid and has a bland taste and low odor. This water soluble product is suited for addition to drinks, concentrates and bars and is Kosher certified.
